Turkish Spor Toto Super League leaders Medipol Basaksehir defeated Atiker Konyaspor 2-0 at home to increase its points total to 61 on Sunday evening.
With seven weeks to go in the Super League, Basaksehir managed to keep the six point lead ahead of second-placed Galatasaray.
Brazilian midfielder Marcio Mossoro and Bosnian star Edin Visca scored a goal each in the second half at Basaksehir’s Fatih Terim stadium. Basaksehir’s top scorer Bosnian Visca put up a stunning performance for the orange and navy-blue outfit. He has scored 11 goals and 12 assists in 27 league appearances.
Basaksehır took control of the match as early as the 8th minute when they scored a goal which was ruled off-side after the Video Assistant Referees (VAR) review. Brazilian Mossoro came onin the 50th minute and scored the first goal. Visca scored the second goal in the 69th minute of the game.
Basaksehir’s next game is against Besiktas at Vodafone Park next week.
Fenerbahçe drew 1-1 with MKE Ankaragücü on Sunday. New Zealand’s Tyler Boyd opened the scoring for MKE Ankaragücü in the 42nd minute before Hasan Ali Kaldırım pulled back a goal in the 67th minute to secure a draw for Fenerbahçe. Tension erupted between the two teams towards the end of the game in the 87th minute resulting in direct red cards to Mehmet Ekinci from Fenerbahçe and Hector Canteros of MKE Ankaragücü. Ekinci is now ineligible to play in the upcoming derby against Galatasaray.
